What makes Amritangan Ghee different from regular store-bought ghee?
Most commercial ghee is made from milk cream using high-speed machines. Amritangan Ghee is made from A2 Desi Cow Milk using the traditional Bilona method. We first convert the milk into curd and then churn it to extract butter (makkhan), which is slow-cooked. This preserves the nutrients, grainy texture, and authentic aroma that machine-made ghee lacks.
Why is Bilona Ghee more expensive than ordinary ghee?
The Bilona process is labor-intensive and requires more milk. While a machine can produce ghee from cream quickly, it takes approximately 25–30 liters of A2 milk to produce just 1 liter of our Bilona ghee. You are paying for the purity, the traditional manual labor, and the high nutritional value.
How can I check the purity of Amritangan Ghee at home?
Pure Bilona ghee has a distinct granular (danedar) texture and a natural nutty aroma. A simple test is to put a spoonful of ghee on your palm; if it starts melting immediately due to body heat, it is a sign of purity. Also, our ghee is lab-tested to ensure it is 100% free from adulteration.
Does Amritangan Ghee come in a plastic jar?
No, we believe in preserving both health and the environment. Amritangan Ghee is packed in premium glass jars. Glass is non-reactive and helps maintain the ghee's aroma, taste, and nutritional integrity for a longer period compared to plastic.
